On The Run Racing Team Did Not Let a Cold and Wet Weekend Dampen Efforts!
The masses are asking, "Is this a new running project for one of the shoe companies?"
Red and White, On the Run Racing Team Members, blanked the countryside like a Red Dawn.
The Invasion started with the cold and wet Galloway Gallop 5K/10K. The women/men open teams won both overall titles in the 5K/10K.
In the 5K Rebecca Whitney out kicked Liz Schwandt 20:10 to 20:13 as Rebecca won overall title and Liz was the masters winner. Rudy Rocha was the overall winner in 16:20 and teammates Sam Rodriguez and John Robertson finished 2nd and 4th with times of 16:56 and 17:13. Raymond Cruz won his age group with a time of 18:20.
In the 10K Laura Bennett continued her winning ways with a time of 41:28 for the overall title. Alan Hedengren dominated the overall 10K win with a great time of 33:46. Mark Anderson won the 50-54 age group with a time of 39:44.
The second invasion wave struck the Freescale Austin Marathon on Sunday. Many red singlets made it to the finish line in lifetime personal bests. Chad James and Carwyn Sharp destroyed their personal bests by breaking the 3-hour barrier for the first time with times of 2:47:36 and 2:46:58. Ben Harvie ran a 3:05:54 just missing a personal best. Assistant store manager, Vera Balic, ran a personal best in the half-marathon with a time of 1:35:33.
This weekend followed the teams showing at the Park-to-Park 5 miler as the men's team finished 1st, 2nd, and 4th overall. John Hedengren lead the team with a 25:56 overall win as Rudy Rocha finished 2nd in 26:23. Sam Rodriguez had an outstanding run as he finished 4th in 27:36 setting a personal best by 52 seconds!!
